With more and more cars coming into the market we are seeing more focus on global design as companies are vying for more global sales. The moment we are at now is how can car manufacturers for 2013 going to be able to deliver efficiency with drivability. Consumers don’t all wish to have to drive around in a car that although good on gas mileage is slow and unable to provide any spirited driving when need be and for that reason we are seeing individuals still looking for cars that can maintain this balance. With more focus on combustion and raising compression ratios we are seeing direct injection cylinder heads that are taking the trickle down technology from racing engine design and putting it towards our daily drivers thus giving us a more powerful car with better response yet it also is more efficient and gives off less emissions. There are many different cars 2013 that will offer such engine designs and with the coupling of a direct injection heads with variable valve timing we should see a small displacement engine delivering some impressive numbers for us this year. We will however also see more CVT transmissions as well as these continuously variable transmission gain reliability and efficiency. All in all we are seeing more engineering coming first and less penny pinching and this type ability for power coupled with lighter and stronger chassis should make for some really great cars in the future of cars 2013 and beyond.

Fighting for the title of extreme

How do we classify someone who is defying death in order to gain the glory of being a pioneer in
a field that has been previously untouched by those before them? We see the word extreme used
for everything that means excessive. Like wow those are some extreme corn chips or wow that lady
on the electric scooter is an extreme fat ass. Every mini keg of over caffeinated beverages has the
word extreme plastered on it in a way that make it look like it in your face and ready to make your
heart explode. The word extreme is most well known in the sports category for a field of sports
from snowboarding to motocross. We have seen the rise of competition from the X-games to Red
Bull sponsored record breaking attempts. My only problem with any of this is the fact that the word
extreme is used for to many things and has lost its value. Just like the word ”Fuck” that is now used as
an adjective, verb, noun, pronoun, etc and now means that you are just not classy. So is true for the
word extreme and therefore we have to come up with a word that either has more x’s in it or sounds
like you are crushing a skull once it is pronounced. I have a few thoughts but I want to hear from you
and your ideas for a word that would triumph the word extreme and make it sound like extreme is the
silver medal in comparison. My idea is that everything that is dubbed extreme we replace it with “Barbie
diarrhea”. Now hear me out before you start blogging about my lower intelligence and how you own
six dodge viper’s. Just think about the word becoming so popular that the mainstream media is forced
to use it in order not sound like the old un-cool geezers that they are so desperately trying not to sound
like. X-games correspondent: Wow Shawn Murray how bout that 1080 Mctwist you pulled off to place
you in the top tier for podium placement, you are so Barbie diarrhea tonight brosky. Or how about new
Barbie diarrhea Doritos that have the taste of all the rest of their stoner marketed products (diarrhea).
If we can replace “extreme” with “Barbie Diarrhea” then we won’t be able to contain ourselves when
we walk through the convenient store. It is food for thought, so tell us what you would replace the word
extreme with.

The fight for flight is the question of extreme

The passion for human flight has been around since we first gazed at the sky above us to see a bird
gliding almost effortlessly. Today we have a few extreme sports pioneers that are working to get a rush
yet are helping to get us closer to the reality of flight. We are still in the infancy of this endeavor yet
we see as many different types of extreme flight contraptions being conjured up as we see in the old
silent movies where men strapped feathers and boards and tried to run off ramps and ended up with
a mouth full of dirt. The closest we have to personal flight for the masses comes as a parachute and
back mounted motor that spins a prop thus giving you thrust in order to gain altitude. This gives you the
experience of cutting your engine and quietly floating yet still having the ability to turn. This is a great
way to experience altitude and the scenery yet is nothing more than a powered parachute. A closer step
is hang gliding which gives you more freedom of movement as you take off from a high elevation and
rely on your wings above to give lift as you constantly battle elevation and speed to try and stay afloat
for as long as possible. Next you have the latest and by far most dangerous ways of flight yet it is still
a controlled fall. Base jumping with a type of flying squirrel suit that allows enough lift to control your
movement making this the most maneuverable way to experience flight. This is done by only a handful
of extreme thrill seekers and is highly dangerous as it takes both base jumping skills as well as the ability
to control you maneuvers at speed excess to 100mph. Finally there is Yves Rossy who was the first to
pioneer a wing that was powered by a quad JATO system. This system still takes a parent craft or higher
altitude to start from as Yves has to fall and pick up speed before he starts the jets. He has been able
to achieve actual elevation gain in excess of 200ft and thus making a crucial step in the fight for flight.
These pioneers will continue to pave the way by being extreme in the fact that they risk themselves in
the process to seek thrills and personal flight.

Whoa bro that’s extreme!

Yes the word extreme comes up more often than one would hope and is now printed on everything
of access that can be found in your local convenient store around the corner. Yes we have reached
a time and place to where we need to lay the word extreme to rest as we did for the word “radical”
and “tubular”. Since I can’t get on my mountain bike and jump a gap without the word extreme
escaping out of someone’s mouth I figure that it is well past its prime because I am no extreme sports
player I am just an average guy that likes to jump shit. To bury the word extreme I figure we use it
to point out the excess in our daily lives and have a little fun with it. Say someone is an obese fat ass
than they can be generalized as extreme eater and an insignificant calorie burner. How about the guy
in the cubicle next to you that checks in with his wife five times a day; he is an extreme pussy and
an insignificant husband. See this is fun and hurtful and I’m sure many of you will take this blog very
personal and leave comments to which I’m not going to read or care about.

An extreme sports athlete can sometimes be an extreme rider but an inefficient writer of the English
language. The fact is that the word “extreme” needs to be turned into hate speech in order to retire
it just like the word retarded was a simple term that meant lacking or slower than average and is still
used when working on something like an engines timing “Sometimes you need to retard the spark of the
distributor”. Since we now use the word as a derogatory term it is deemed to be politically incorrect,
which last time I checked I am not running for political office so I don’t care. Back to the point of burying
the word extreme means we have to use it harshly in order for sensitive people to get all bent out of
shape and deem “extreme” to be hate speech. This should take care of the word so use it proudly as you
camouflage your hate speech with it.

Extreme Nature of Humans

Throughout history we have tried to defy all the rules of law and nature. We have developed machines
and formulas that test the boundaries of the cosmos. At this moment in time we are accelerating
atomic particles faster than the speed of light and defying Einstein’s own theory. We set out to send our
finest Astronauts to land on our moon and defy those that thought no human would every leave our
planet. We are an interesting bunch of carbon based life forms that continue to evolve into pioneers
that continuously push the envelope of our realm and for that we are extreme. I hate the fact that the
word extreme is so over used yet the word brilliant or pioneer is left to the dictionary. We have been
a part of human history were a population explosion of epic proportions has arisen to leave us with a
massive amount of humans yet on the bright side we have cherry picked out some great minds as well
as developed ways to understand those with ailment s such as Stephen Hawking and let them be heard
and excel which would not be the case for any other species in the wild. We have answered questions
with more questions and strived to gather more information from our planet as we peer into our galaxy
and those around us. Just recently we were able to watch as the crab nebula expelled more energy than
any scientist deemed possible. We are constantly working on new ideas in order to make life easier and
more fruitful whether we work to build infrastructure in our nations or local communities we even make
great strides to protect each other from tyrants to tsunamis. We truly are a carbon based life form that
is possible of very remarkable feats. When you look at the consumer electronics and appliances that are
in your home take a moment to think how much data is streaming through thin air at lighting fast speed
in order to bring you streaming high definition movies and convert the signal to an electric charge that
changes the positions of millions of liquid crystals to make a picture that changes 120 times a second,
for this reason we are extreme and live in a world of endless possibilities.

What it Means to Take it to the Extreme

The word extreme is overused in almost all aspects yet when we see something that is new, aggressive and dangerous we automatically dub it as extreme. For decades athletes have constantly tested and pushed the envelope as to what a human can achieve. From skateboarding to skydiving these thrill seekers set out to push themselves further than anyone before in order to be a pioneer in that field. We are attacking obstacles in ways that our parents could have never dreamed. We are continuing to break ground and records on new extreme sports. We call it extreme because it takes either complete professional with years of training and adaptability or completely fearless daredevil types that desire glory more than common sense. We now can take a kit and wakeboard and jump a bridge under just the power of wind. We can now surf waves that could crush a cargo ships hull. We leap off bluff sides with suits mimicking those of flying squirrels and touch the sides of mountains at terminal velocity. Since the introduction of social video internet sites we are now placing more and more content of ourselves trying to defy gravity and the natural code. As most of us sit in our office chair and throw our caddy comments into the comment box, these people are out there achieving goals that were non-existent a few years prior. During the 1950’s we were set on the jet age and expected that in another 50 years time we would be using that technology for personal transport yet we are a decade plus past that and have only achieved a controlled fall. We recently got to experience Swiss adventurer Yves Rossy “Jetman” who launched from a helicopter and free falls before starting hit four engines that allows him to actually climb in elevation before he runs out of fuel and has to parachute to the ground. This is the first step in the pioneering of personal powered winged flight and for that we say that Yves is truly an extreme individual.
